Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (PSP) – Gamescom Full Trailer!

Or Should I Say MGS5?

Badass, as always.

Badass, as always.

Kojima has done it again! Suffice to say I was very dissatisfied (as a loyal and solely a Playstation 3 owner due to ‘Metal Gear Solid 4’) when Kojima announced that this new ‘Metal Gear Rising’ game would be going multiplatform… What this generally means is that this game is no longer optimized to run on the Playstation. Big deal? Big deal indeed because you must make many compromises in quality when making a game multiplatform, you are no longer taking advantage of the strengths of a particular system. (Look no further than the impeccable looking ‘Uncharted 2: Among Thieves’ – impossible to make on the XBOX36o)

Anyway, Sony be shackled, a true successor to ‘MGS 4’ was announced but it was not going to be on the Sony Playstation 3. Instead this new true sequel would be on the Sony PSP, and that means it would look hideous next to the astounding ‘MGS 4’ which was on the superior PS3 platform.

I was upset, but am no more after seeing the latest ‘Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker’ trailer, Kojima wasn’t kidding when he said it would be a whole new experience… comrade 🙂

I am satisfied, like every ‘Metal Gear Solid’ from 1 to 2, to 3, to 4, and now to 5… each one is a totally unique experience, and that is great to be honest. This looks like a tonne of fun with the co-op, it’s a whole new dimension to the ‘MGS’ formula. Finally, I have found a concrete reason to invest in a PSP Go. Just like how ‘Metal Gear Solid 4’ made me buy a PS3, ‘Peace Walker’ will make be buy a PSP.
